Q: My child has not turned 3 years old, can he/she participate?
A:

For 2020 classes, we will be enrolling children according to the year of their birth. That is, if your child is turning 3 in 2020, he/she is eligible.

Q: My child is above 9 years old, can he/she participate?
A:

For 2019 classes, we will be enrolling children born from 1 Jan 2011 to 31 Dec 2017.

Q: I am signing up my children of different ages, will they be in the same class?
A:

The children will be grouped according to their age; the 3 - 4 year olds in one group, the 5 - 9 year olds in one group according to their gender.

Q: Is this programme suitable for children with special needs?
A:

This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Trainers will have to be informed so that they can assess the child's pace of learning. If you wish to enrol a child with special needs, write in to hello@gateway.sg and we will be glad to assist you.

Q: Is my child required to commit for all modules throughout the year?
A:

No, you can sign your child up for one module at a time, or as many modules as you like.

Q: My child did not attend the earlier module(s), can he/she register for the upcoming module(s)?
A:

Yes, the coursework is designed to be easy for newcomers to join in and catch up.

Q: When is the closing date to register my child for the various modules?
A:

Registration for each module closes once the class is full or 1 week before the module starts.

Q: How can I register for the module(s)?
A:

You can register here. Your registration will be confirmed when the payment for the course fee is received.

Q: How do I make payment to register my child?
A:

You may do so by credit card on our website. You will receive detailed payment instructions when submitting your registration.

Q: Is there a special bundle price when I sign my child up for more than one module?
A:

Unfortunately, we have not released any bundle promotions yet.

Q: Is there a special bundle price when I sign up for more than one child?
A:

No, each child is registered separately.

Q: Are there any trial sessions?
A:

Trial Session is FREE, limited to 1 Trial Session per child.
Upon signing up for the module, the fee payable would include the trial session, i.e. the fee includes the session attended as well as the remaining sessions of the module.
A 2nd trial is available at $32.00 provided there is a vacancy and subject to approval by Gateway on a case-by-case basis. (Usually reserved for children with special needs.)

Q: When are the dates for trial sessions?
A:

Trial sessions are available on throughout the Module, subjected to availability.

Q: Is there priority registration for existing students?
A:
Yes, students who are currently enrolled and sign up during the priority registration period will be confirmed for the next module. After the priority registration period is closed, registration will be opened to the public on a first come first served basis. Please check with our administrators on the priorirty registration period.
Q: Pro-Rate Policy
A:
Before making payment, kindly inform the administrator if your child is unable to attend any of the sessions. A pro-rate will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subjected to approval by Gateway. Fees are not refundable once payment has been made.
Q: My child is unable to attend one session of the module, is there a make up session? (EG: MC, Exam, Overseas)
A:

No, there are no make up sessions, so students are encouraged to attend all eight sessions in each module.

Q: My child is unable to attend one session of the module, can I transfer to another child?
A:

No, the classes are non-transferable.

Q: My child missed one session of the module, will he/she be able to catch up with the class the following week?
A:
The trainers will do their best to help him/her to catch up.
Q: My child is unable to attend one session of the module, can I get a refund for one session's fees?
A:

Course fees are non-refundable except for absences due to medical reasons. In such cases the refund request will be reviewed, and upon approval only 50% of the paid fees for the missed classes will be refunded, less any credit card administrative costs charged by the bank. A doctor's letter or medical certificate is required for verification.

Q: What is the cancellation and/or refund policy?
A:

Q: Are parents required to stay throughout the session?
A:

"Parents are not required and not encouraged to sit in through the sessions. This helps the students grow in independence and confidence. For children below 4 years who may not be able to use the restroom independently, parents are required to stay in the vicinity to assist if necessary."

Q: Are parents/ guardians/ domestic helpers allowed to sit in and observe?
A:

To build the child’s independence and confidence amongst other participants of the same age group, parents are advised not to sit-in for the class.

There will be a year-end showcase for parents to see their child's progress. The year-end performance could be in the form of a recital or a showcase such as a performance at old folks home.

In 2020, the students will be preparing for a recital where each class will be performing on stage. Parents would have to purchase tickets to attend and there will be a separate fee charged for the recital materials such as costumes.

Q: How many trainers are there in one class?
A:

There are two trainers in each class.

Q: How many children are there in one class?
A:

The younger classes (3 & 4 years old) can have up to 10 students, while the older classes (5 - 9 years old) can have up to 15 students.

Q: What is the appropriate dress code for my child?
A:

Your child should wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow him/her to move freely. Please bring along a water bottle.

Q: Will the class be conducted within the classroom, or will my child be brought out to other locations?
A:

The class will be conducted within Gateway Theatre.

Q: My child is unable to attend one session of the module, can I transfer the credits to the next module to offset one session's fee?
A:

If your child missed a session due to medical reasons, we will review the request on a case-by-case basis.
